How to Reconcile camt.053 Balances

Build an exact, currency-aware opening plus movement equals closing equation.

Select balance types

Opening and closing values must be chosen explicitly from compatible balance types and dates. The first and last balance in a file are not automatically the right pair.

Sign entries exactly

Use the lexical decimal, currency, CRDT/DBIT indicator, and reversal semantics. Never use binary floating point for financial equality.

Explain non-results

Missing balances, mixed currencies, unsupported indicators, and ambiguous selection should produce an unavailable equation with evidence, not a guessed number.
